IB Tutoring in Dubai, UAE for MYP and Diploma Students

Look, we get it. It's 9pm on a school night. The Maths AA problem set still isn't done, and the Physics IA draft is due Thursday. That's a normal week for many families, and it's often when parents start looking for IB tutoring in Dubai.

The International Baccalaureate is a brilliant programme. It's also relentless. Six subjects, three or four of them at Higher Level, plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS. All of it peaks just as your child starts thinking about university. And after the school run on Al Khail Road, nobody has much energy left for homework battles.

Most students we meet aren't "bad at IB." They follow the lesson in class. Then a timed paper or a strict mark scheme catches them out. Closing that gap is what our one-to-one online IB Diploma tutoring and MYP support are built for. Our DP team includes senior IB examiners and specialists.

That's why it all starts with a free consultation. Quarterly and yearly plans then add a baseline diagnostic assessment and a personalised learning plan. And because we're also a university admissions team, we watch predicted grades and the offers they unlock.

Why Hale

IB Tutoring in Dubai from a KHDA-Certified Education Group

Hale Education Group has worked with UAE families for more than a decade. We're licensed in Dubai and KHDA-certified for test preparation and university admissions guidance. Our office sits on the 22nd floor of The One Tower in Barsha Heights. Hundreds of UAE families already trust us with university admissions counselling and test preparation. IB tutoring sits naturally beside that work.

Why? It's a story we hear from parents all the time. A student comes to us for UK or US university applications. Then the real worry turns out to be a predicted 5 in HL Chemistry. You can't build a strong application around a grade that's sliding. So subject support and admissions advice belong together.

Our IB tutoring in Dubai runs one-to-one and live online. That suits Dubai better than most people expect. Nobody sits in traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. A student in Mirdif gets the same specialist as a student in Dubai Marina. And unlike group IB tuition in Dubai, every minute of the session is about your child.

Our certified tutors go beyond academics. They look after well-being as well as grades. We believe one size fits one, so every plan is built around a single student.

We don't promise a 7 in every subject. Nobody can promise that and mean it. What we do promise is a clear plan, regular feedback and a tutor who knows the IB criteria.

The same one-to-one online model also covers Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA and AP curricula. It extends to SAT and ACT preparation and CBSE school fundamentals.

What sets our IB tutoring apart

  • Built for each programme. DP, MYP 4 and 5, and MYP 1 to 3 each have their own specialists, subjects and plans.

  • Senior IB examiners and specialists. DP students learn from people who know how IB papers are marked.

  • Built around IB assessment criteria. Sessions use past paper drills, mark scheme analysis and command term decoding.

  • Linked to university plans. DP predicted grade tracking keeps university goals in view. Hale's admissions counselling covers the UK, US and Europe.

  • Parents stay in the loop. You get monthly parent-teacher meetings and a dedicated Parent App, not silence until report cards arrive.

The Programmes

What Does IB Tutoring Cover? Programmes, Levels and Scoring

The IB runs four programmes. They're the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Then come the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Career-related Programme (CP). Our IB tutoring in Dubai covers every MYP year and both years of the DP. The biggest focus is on DP 1 and 2, the high-stakes final years that decide university admissions.

So what actually happens in a session? Well, it depends on the student. One week it's integration by parts. The next it's a TOK essay plan or a vague IA research question. Parents often ask us, "Isn't this just homework help?" Not really. Homework help finishes tonight's worksheet. Tutoring works out why the worksheet felt hard in the first place.

DP 1 and 2

DP students take six subjects across the IB subject groups. They also complete Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). The core is easy to underestimate, yet TOK and the EE can add up to 3 points. Our DP support combines HL and SL concept mastery, strategic topic prioritization and predicted grade tracking. Specialised IB examiners and rigorous performance planning help students master advanced exam technique and maximise predicted grades.

Higher Level vs Standard Level

Students take three or four subjects at Higher Level (HL) and the rest at Standard Level (SL). HL carries 240 recommended teaching hours, against 150 at SL. HL papers go deeper and run longer. So an HL tutor needs real subject depth, not just a good textbook.

Graded 1 to 7, Diploma out of 45

Each subject is graded from 1 to 7. TOK and the EE add up to 3 core points, so the top score is 45. Students need at least 24 points, plus a few other conditions, to earn the diploma. Internal Assessments usually count for roughly 20 to 30 percent of a subject grade. Those are marks you can lock in before exam season.

From May 2027

The Extended Essay Changes From May 2027

Students sitting the May 2027 exams are the first to use the revised Extended Essay guide. Total marks fall from 34 to 30. The old engagement criterion becomes a reflection criterion. Three written reflections are replaced by one reflective statement after the final viva voce. A new interdisciplinary pathway also replaces World Studies. Plenty of online EE advice still describes the old version, so check any advice against the current guide.

MYP 4 and 5

This is where the focus shifts to standardised eAssessments and independent research. The on-screen exam format and the extensive Personal Project demand more than subject knowledge. Specialised subject experts give eAssessment-focused one-to-one coaching with strategic topic sequencing. Criterion-referenced practice and mocks build exam readiness. Critical thinking and inquiry sessions round it out. Students learn to decode command terms and handle interdisciplinary questions. The aim is to turn exam anxiety into technical mastery and prepare students for the rigour of the DP. Our admissions roadmap for Grades 9 to 12 shows how these years connect to university plans.

MYP 1 to 3

These years bridge primary school and higher secondary. Subject-specific grading and the Approaches to Learning framework can knock a student's confidence. MYP subject and assessment specialists run criteria-focused one-to-one sessions on MYP terminology and command terms. Syllabus coverage is synced to the student's school. Criterion-referenced practice and achievement level tracking show parents progress by criterion. Early support here builds the independent study habits the DP will demand.

Subjects

IB Subject Tutoring in Dubai

IB Diploma tutoring works best when the tutor knows the exact course, not just the subject. So every IB DP tutor on our DP team is a senior IB examiner or subject specialist. Here's how IB tutoring in Dubai looks across the subjects we cover, at both HL and SL. Quarterly or yearly plans add IA support.

IB Maths Tutors for AA and AI

Maths is where many DP students first feel stretched. Need an IB Maths tutor in Dubai? We cover Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Applications and Interpretation (AI), at both HL and SL. Maths AA and AI sessions build concept mastery through past paper drills and mark scheme analysis. IA support covers the maths exploration.

IB Physics, Chemistry and Biology Tutors

An IB Physics tutor or IB Chemistry tutor must know the newer DP science courses. These were first examined in 2025. Sessions focus on HL and SL concept mastery and advanced exam technique. IA support covers the scientific investigation. Biology students get the same support.

IB Economics and Business Management

Economics students often understand the theory but lose marks on diagrams and evaluation. Past paper drills and mark scheme analysis target both. Business Management support covers case study practice and the internal assessment.

IB English A

We tutor both English A courses: Language and Literature, and Literature. Students work on textual analysis, the individual oral and essay structure.

MYP

MYP Subjects

Looking for an IB MYP tutor in Dubai? MYP 4 and 5 students can get help with Mathematics (Standard and Extended), Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Integrated Sciences and English Language and Literature are covered too. MYP 1 to 3 support covers Mathematics (Standard and Extended) and the sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It also covers English Language and Literature, and English Language Acquisition.

Investment

IB Tutor Fees in Dubai: Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Plans

Let's talk money, because nearly every parent asks about it in the first conversation. Our one-to-one IB tutoring in Dubai comes in monthly, quarterly and yearly plans. Fees are the same for HL and SL, and all prices exclude VAT. Across Dubai, private IB tutor fees usually range from about AED 200 to AED 450 an hour. Budget online platforms advertise lower rates, while tutors with long IB track records sit at the top end.

So what changes the price? In our fee tables, it's the programme and the plan length. Yearly plans save the most compared with paying monthly, and they include the most support. Our view? The cheapest hour isn't good value if it doesn't move the grade.

Our Method

How Our IB Tutoring Works

Our IB tutoring in Dubai usually follows five steps. Sometimes the order shifts a little, depending on deadlines, and that's completely fine.

1

Free Consultation

We start with a relaxed conversation, either online or at our Barsha Heights office. Which subjects worry you most, and what's due at school next? Students often say things like, "I get it in class, then I blank in the test." That single sentence tells us a surprising amount.

2

Baseline Diagnostic Assessment

On quarterly and yearly plans, a baseline diagnostic assessment identifies strengths and gaps. We look for patterns. Is the problem content, timing, command terms or exam nerves? Most of the time, it's a combination.

3

Tutor Match and Learning Plan

Each programme has its own specialists. Your IB DP tutor comes from our team of IB examiners and specialists. MYP students work with subject and assessment experts. On a quarterly or yearly plan, the diagnostic shapes a personalised learning plan. DP plans use strategic topic prioritization, and MYP 4 and 5 plans use strategic topic sequencing. It's rarely a straight line, and that's normal.

4

Live Sessions and Feedback

Live sessions combine teaching, practice, assignments and doubt sessions. Tutors mark answers against official IB mark schemes and show exactly where marks slipped away. Between classes, Sparky AI Tutor sessions help with assignments and reinforce concepts.

5

Reviews, Mocks and Final Prep

Monthly parent-teacher meetings track progress and correct course early. DP students also get predicted grade tracking. Before mocks and finals, students sit mock and proctored tests under exam conditions. Yearly plans add pre-exam strategy sessions. Sometimes the plan changes halfway through. We'd rather adjust in November than discover a problem in May.

Not sure where the marks are slipping? Book a free consultation and leave with a clear next step.

Resources

IB Exam Preparation, Past Papers and Tech

Good IB exam preparation is mostly about practising the right things under the right conditions. We're not big on gimmicks. These are the tools behind our IB tutoring in Dubai. Our IB programme runs on a learning platform powered by Sparkl.

Past Paper Drills and Mark Scheme Analysis

Tutors work from released past papers and official mark schemes. Students learn the command terms, like "explain" and "evaluate", and what each one demands.

Mock and Proctored Tests

Before mocks and finals, students sit full papers under timed conditions. We mark them against the mark scheme and turn every lost mark into a revision target. MYP 4 and 5 plans add e-assessments and exam simulations for real-test readiness.

Learning Tools in Every Plan

Every Hale plan for IB tutoring in Dubai includes Sparky AI Tutor sessions for assignment help between live classes. It also comes with a NoteVision device and the Student and Parent apps. Quarterly and yearly plans add recorded lectures for revision at any time.

IA, EE and TOK Mentorship

IA, EE and TOK mentorship is part of our DP support. Help with Internal Assessments comes with a quarterly or yearly plan. We question, prompt and point to the assessment criteria. We never write the work. Dedicated TOK and EE mentorship comes with the yearly plan.

The Bigger Picture

Why IB Tutoring Matters for Predicted Grades and University Offers

Here's what drives us a little crazy. Many families wait for the May exams before they start worrying. But for UK applicants, offers are usually based on predicted grades. Teachers typically set those in the autumn of DP2. By May, the application has long gone.

Timing matters even more for Oxford and Cambridge. Their UCAS deadline is 15 October, so predictions for those students are fixed very early. A shaky HL grade in DP1 can quietly limit where a student feels able to apply. Our UK and Oxbridge counselling team sees this pattern regularly.

Radcliffe Camera, Oxford

IB Scores Top UK Universities Ask For

UniversityIB pointsHigher Level
Cambridge41 to 42 points (minimum offer level)776, and some colleges ask for 777
Oxford38, 39 or 40 points, including core6s and 7s
Imperial College London38 to 42 points (minimum standard)6 or 7 in relevant subjects
LSE37 to 39 points, depending on course666 to 766, with Maths AA HL required for some courses
UCL34 to 40 points, including core16 to 20 across three HL subjects, with at least 5 in each

These figures come from each university's admissions pages, checked in October 2026. Requirements vary by course and year, so always check the course page. Our counsellors help families read these numbers against a student's real predicted grades.

There's a financial side too. Missing a typical offer by a point or two can mean Clearing, a November resit or a gap year. Each option costs time, money and confidence. Fixing a gap during DP1 usually costs far less.

And then there's the human side. IB students in Dubai often juggle sport, CAS projects, and long school days. The volume of HL and SL content, plus IA and EE deadlines, can lead to burnout and fluctuating grades. When a subject stays confusing for months, stress builds and sleep slips. We've seen capable students start believing they're "not a maths person." That belief is usually wrong, and it's fixable. That's why our tutors look after well-being alongside academics.

Early support helps in a few practical ways:

  • Gaps get fixed while there's still time to practise.

  • IA marks are secured before exam pressure peaks.

  • Predicted grades better reflect what the student can really do.

  • Students walk into mocks with a plan instead of panic.

What Parents Often Tell Us

We won't invent glowing quotes with made-up names. But some comments come up again and again. Parents often tell us the monthly parent-teacher meetings and the Parent App finally show them what's really happening. Students say marking against real mark schemes makes feedback feel fair, not personal. And quite a few families mention that evenings at home feel calmer once homework stops being a fight.

We also hear the frustrating stuff. Honestly, it bothers us when a tutor elsewhere rewrites a student's IA. IB academic integrity rules are strict, and the risk falls entirely on the student. Our tutors guide, question and explain. The thinking and the writing stay the student's own.

How We Earn Your Trust

Local Expertise

IB Tutors Who Know Dubai Schools and the UAE Calendar

Good IB tutoring in Dubai has to fit real Dubai life. That means school calendars, Ramadan routines, and the daily school run.

Curriculum Awareness

Plenty of Dubai students switch curricula along the way. A student moving into DP1 from IGCSE often has gaps in maths notation or extended writing. With a quarterly or yearly plan, the baseline diagnostic helps spot those gaps early.

Schools and Neighbourhoods

Dubai has dozens of IB World Schools. They range from Dubai International Academy in Emirates Hills to Uptown International School in Mirdif. Each school sets its own IA deadlines, mock dates and predicted-grade timing. That's why quarterly and yearly plans include support for school-based exams and internal assessments. Just to be clear, we aren't affiliated with any school.

Exam Sessions

Most Dubai schools sit the May session. The November 2026 session runs from 23 October to 13 November, mainly for retakes. The May 2027 exams are expected from late April to mid May, with results in early July.

Language Support

Dubai classrooms are wonderfully international. Many IB students speak English as a second or third language. That can hold back English A or TOK marks, even when the thinking is sharp. Our English A tutoring covers Language and Literature, and Literature, at HL and SL. MYP 1 to 3 students can also get English Language Acquisition support.

Seasonal Scheduling

The UAE school year usually runs from late August to early July. In 2027, Ramadan is expected to fall across February and March, close to mock season for many DP2 students. It's worth planning sessions around shorter school days and changed routines. Summer is quieter, which makes it a smart time to start the EE or fix DP1 gaps.

Local Know-How

Many Dubai schools finish early on Fridays, which frees up Friday afternoons for focused study. Weekday sessions work best once the school run is done. Small details like these keep sessions consistent.

Hale Success Stories

Let us hear what our students have to say!

Why Hale

Why Choose Hale for IB Tutoring in Dubai?

There are plenty of IB tutors in Dubai, and some of them are excellent. So why do families choose Hale? Here's our pitch, without the hype. Want a private IB tutor in Dubai who also understands university admissions? That's exactly the gap we fill.

Local, Certified and Accessible

Hale is a KHDA-certified education group, with a real office in Barsha Heights. You can sit down with us face to face before your child ever logs on.

Tutoring Joined to Admissions

Hale also runs university admissions counselling. So families can plan grades, subject choices and applications together, not in separate silos.

Diagnostic First

Quarterly and yearly plans start with a baseline diagnostic assessment, so teaching targets the marks being lost. Guesswork wastes expensive hours, and it frustrates students who already feel stuck.

Flexible Online Sessions

Sessions run live, online and one-to-one, on monthly, quarterly or yearly plans. Every plan includes a NoteVision device and full access to the Student and Parent apps.

Honest Progress Updates

You'll hear what's improving and what isn't. Monthly parent-teacher meetings make sure of it. We'd rather have an awkward chat in November than deliver a surprise in July.

Well-Being, Not Just Grades

Our certified tutors look after mental well-being alongside academic results. A stressed student rarely does their best work.

Integrity Over Shortcuts

We guide IA, EE and TOK work strictly within IB rules. Your child's work stays your child's work, always.

FAQs

IB Tutoring in Dubai FAQs

Well, it depends on the programme and the plan. Hale's DP plans cost AED 1,320 a month, AED 3,600 a quarter or AED 12,960 a year. The fee is the same for HL and SL. MYP 4 and 5 plans start at AED 792 a month. MYP 1 to 3 plans start at AED 704. All prices exclude VAT.

For the DP, we tutor English A Language and Literature, English A Literature, Maths AA and Maths AI. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Business Management are covered too, all at HL and SL. MYP students can get help with Mathematics, the sciences and English. These are the subjects listed in our IB programme.

HL covers more content in more depth, with about 240 teaching hours against 150 at SL. HL tutoring goes further into extension topics and harder exam questions. SL tutoring often focuses on consistency and exam technique. Our fees are the same for both.

Yes, within IB rules. IA, EE and TOK mentorship is part of our DP support, and our IB IA tutors give IB-focused guidance. They never write or rewrite the work. Support for internal assessments comes with quarterly and yearly plans. Dedicated TOK and EE mentorship comes with the yearly DP plan.

Ideally, as soon as a gap shows up. We support students from MYP 1, so some families start early to build good habits. Good moments to start are MYP 5, before the eAssessments, or early in DP1. Some students join in DP2, just before mocks. Starting later still helps, but there's less time to practise.

In most cases, yes. Live one-to-one sessions keep the focus entirely on your child, with practice, assignments and doubt sessions built in. They also save Dubai families a lot of driving. If you'd like to meet first, we're happy to see you at our Barsha Heights office.

Our monthly DP plan includes 10 live teaching hours. Quarterly DP plans include 30 hours, and yearly plans 100 to 120. MYP plans start at 8 live hours a month. More isn't always better, though. Students need time to practise on their own.

Well, it starts with the programme. DP students work with IB examiners and specialists. MYP students work with subject and assessment specialists. On quarterly and yearly plans, your dedicated Student Relationship Manager is the person to tell if something isn't working.

No, and please be wary of anyone who says it can. Tutoring improves understanding, technique and confidence. The effort still has to come from the student. What we can promise is a clear plan and honest feedback.

Look for real IB subject knowledge, comfort with mark schemes and clear progress tracking. Ask how the tutor handles coursework integrity. Then book a consultation before you commit. Our office is in Barsha Heights, but sessions run online, so fit matters more than distance.
